Created in 2007 with a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin J. Philips, III. the Sanctuary School is a home school for elementary age children who attend the other Sanctuary programs and have been retained in public schools.
We teach to the Common Core Standards and include online learning in addition to regular classroom teaching. Students are evaluated 3 times a year.
Individual attention and the very small class size provide the children with the instruction that meets their needs. Field trips and experiential learning fill gaps in learning and make the academic experience enjoyable and stimulating.
Absenteeism and poor attitudes are not an issue at the Sanctuary School. The children have been transformed from failing students to eager, enthusiastic learners on the road to success.
